What happens after you press book, and what it costs if plans change.
Find an hour that's available
Every listing on Round The Way is available time from a nearby business. You are choosing a particular hour from a particular business, not asking around for quotes.
Book it, and it is held
The hour comes off that business's day the moment you book it and stops being offered to anybody else. What happens about money is answered in the questions below.
They arrive, and the work is recorded
The vehicle at your door has to match the details you were shown, you give them a start code, and photographs are taken before, during and after the work.
Questions about booking alterations and tailoring
Do I need an account?
Booking needs an account and a card. Making the account is an email: you give an email address at the moment you book and type the six digits we send to it, then add a card on the same screen. Looking, comparing prices and messaging a business need no account at all, and neither does opening a booking you already have — the link in your confirmation still works on any phone.
How do I pay?
You pay on this site when you book, by card, and the price you see is the price you pay — nothing is added at checkout. Round The Way holds that payment until the job is done and then pays the business. The labor is paid for here, on the site, at the moment you book — with no cash and nothing paid at the door.
What happens if the job needs a part?
The business sends you a price for the part in your messages. Nothing is fitted until you approve that price, and approving it is also what charges you for it.
Who sets the price for alterations and tailoring?
The business doing the work sets it. Every price on this page was listed by the business whose name is on the card.
How do I know the right person has turned up?
The business's vehicle details are shown to you in the app and the vehicle at your door has to match them. You give them a start code when they arrive, and you both confirm the arrival.
Is there a record of the work?
Photographs are taken before the work starts, while it is going on, and after it is finished.
What does it cost to cancel?
It depends how close to the appointment you are. More than 48 hours away, all of it comes back. Inside 48 hours, three quarters comes back. Inside 12 hours, a quarter — the business has kept that time free and turned other work away for it. Change your mind within 30 minutes of booking and you get all of it back, as long as the appointment is still at least three hours away. It works the same way in both directions: a business that cancels on you pays the same.
